F**k Yeah, also known as Close Enough or Like A Boss (for people who do not like swearing), is a series of four-pane cartoon strips featuring a stick figure looking rather self-complacent and quite frankly, for all the right reasons. Originally posted via /b/ board on February 11, 2010, these cartoons illustrate all sorts of triumphant moments in our daily lives that make us feel awesome, like when you wake up a few seconds before the morning alarm goes off. This phenomenon can be also seen as the antithesis to Rage comics, another four-panel series originating from 4chan circa late 2008. This meme shares some similarities with the advice animal Success Kid.

History

While the original post is no longer available, Know Your Meme user Stefan published the earliest known version of the meme on February 11, 2010. The meme features a stick figure playing and winning a level in a rhythm video game Guitar Hero. However, Know Your Meme users previously reported that the meme comes from the /b/ message board, with its earliest appearance being February 11, 2010. As a Close Enough Guy, the character was shared on humor site Regretful Morning on March 17, 2010 in a compilation of Fuck Yeah comics, showing a character who has just had sex but was unable to bring his partner to orgasm.

Web usage

Many early examples of the meme are no longer available. On February 14, 2010, eBaum's World user robertRAGE published one of the earliest examples online, which features a stick figure playing on a pogo stick and saying "fuck yea" when they successfully stop themselves from falling. That day, versions of the comic also appeared on the website xupwupx.nl.

Like A Boss is a term occasionally associated with the F**k Yeah guy that also implies that someone does something really well. This name is also sometimes used instead of F**k Yeah for people who do not like to use offensive language.

Duck Yeah parodies the saying of "F**k yeah" but jokes around about the rhyming sound of duck and f**k.
